Our story · Liverpool, 2020
Built by a street.
Baked for the North.
The bakery named after the road that built it.
It started here
“It started with a note through a neighbour’s door.”

Crisis → Community → Craft → Conviction → Region
One home oven to the whole North West.
Crisis
Covid wiped out every booking for Andy Cook’s new adventure company within a month of launching.
Community
Andy and his partner offered neighbours help, then bread. A walk around the block ended with twenty orders.
Craft
Demand became seven-day baking and a weekly bread lottery because one domestic oven could not keep up.
Conviction
An industrial unit became a production bakery with Liverpool independents already waiting at the door.
Region
Plattsville now supplies cafés, restaurants and retailers across Liverpool, Manchester, Glossop and soon Leeds.
The road is still in the logo.
The terraced house with wheat growing from its roof is a permanent thank you to the neighbours who placed those first orders.
Those neighbours still eat Plattsville bread today, bought from the independent shops on their own streets.
